About Carolyn Carter

Carolyn Carter began singing and playing music as a very small child in eastern Arkansas. Like many folk and gospel singers, her music began with songs she learned in church. She wrote her first songs as a teenager. Carolyn continued singing as a young mom while raising three children. She now lives with her husband and most fervent supporter, Jeff Carter, in Mountain View, Arkansas. She has performed in the Ozark Mountain area of northern Arkansas for over 16 years and credits renowned Arkansas musician Odell Jackson as an early “inspiration” for her to write her stories through her own music. She is famous for her folk song, “American Blues”. She is a singer, songwriter, musician, Akademia award winner, and storyteller of the Ozark Mountains.
Me on the Bridge

Once upon a time, in a small town in Arkansas, there lived a simple, ordinary country girl. Like many singer/songwriter/musicians she got her musical roots from church. But by the late 60’s she was singing Joan Baez, the 70’s Judy Collins, and the 80’s Emmylou. But the in the 90’s an Extraordinary God reached out and touched this ordinary girl. And now:

“Your message burns in my heart and bones, and I cannot keep silent.” (Jeremiah 20:9)
